Auto glass specialists like to follow the crack filling from the outside via the mirror. For this purpose, a bright LED light is included in the scope of delivery.

III. Attach the GECKO

  • The repair fixture is attached above the damaged area as shown on the screen so that the point of impact lies within the red injector seal, ideally in the lower half.
     
  • To do this, bring the repair fixture close to the window and check the correct positioning in the mirror.
     
  • If the position is correct, the repair fixture is lowered completely onto the glass.
     
  • As soon as the outer (black) seal is completely in contact with the glass surface, the repair fixture automatically sucks onto the pane through the vacuum generated by the vacuum pump and is thus fixed.
If it is necessary to correct the position afterwards, hold the repair fixture with one hand, loosen the connection of the black hose with the other hand and remove the fixture from the glass. Now connect the hose again and reposition the repair fixture. We do not recommend violently moving the fixture on the pane, as this could lead to an unwanted enlargement of the damaged area.

IV. The GECKO starts its work

For 60 seconds, the damaged area is dried using vacuum.

After the 60 seconds, the GECKO sends an acoustic signal (beep). The screen indicates that the resin chamber should be rotated 180 degrees.

V. Applying the pit filler

Hold a clean cleaning paper against the underside of the repair fixture. Now connect the blue hose, as shown on the screen, twice for a second. The inflowing compressed air blows through all channels inside the repair fixture and cleans them from excess resin.

Confirm that the cleaning has been carried out by pressing the ENTER key. This switches off the pumps of the GECKO and the device returns to the initial screen.

Remove the tray together with the repair fixture and the hoses from the windscreen.

Use a razor blade to detach the Mylar square from the glass surface.
